The 2-Minute Drill

Become a Master of Giving a Quick Presentation
The scenario is this: you have minimal time to explain to the boss ideas you have on how to better the company. Finally, it's your chance to be recognized for your contributions. It is important you do your internal debating before your meeting with the boss. Use this drill to organize your thoughts into a clear, crisp presentation, and you'll be sure to have a breakthrough with the boss.

Under the circumstances...
You don't have much time to make a statement, so it's important you do it boldly and briefly. Don't apologize or mention that you usually have much more time—be confident that you can communicate in two minutes. Be clear about the issue and your take on it.

Break it down...
Begin fast. Start with an attention-grabbing statement that proves you are passionate about your ideas. Briefly describe the situation and how you are essential to changing the organization for the better.

Visualize it...
Develop three scenario options for the situation you've presented. Illustrate your points: how it is and more importantly, how it could be. By using a story, you help your audience to see your vision as well.

Finally the consequences...
Now that you've presented your problem and your personal point of view, wrap it up with "the payoff." This will make your short presentation a complete thought. This punctuates your point of view as a positive move for the company.
